Carnival Themed Weddings - A Break from the Traditional
It’s summer time and you know what that means!
The carnival is coming to town and you have a wedding to plan :)
Themed weddings can be a break from the traditional church going crowd.
Imagine having a Pie-in-your-Face stand instead of the traditional smearing of the cake all over your significant other. Or how about fresh popped popcorn as a welcome munchie? We know the birdies like it better than rice.
From the invitations to the person who pronounces you husband and wife (or ringmaster and ringmistress) you can have a themed wedding to fill your carny desires!

Offbeat and Traditional Wedding
Maybe you’re one of those brides who come from a very conservative family and so you are compelled to have a traditional wedding even though you really want to have a something a bit different. The good news is you can have offbeat wedding while keeping your tradition! How? Simply put a twist to it. Make your wedding fun by adding an offbeat touch!
Wedding Dress: You can have long traditional wedding gown with a twist…make your gown more interesting by using a vibrant colour for the petticoat. Wouldn’t be so fantastic if your favourite colour is peeking out from under your white long gown while you’re walking down the aisle?
Wedding Reception. First dance as a couple, toast, groom removing and throwing the bride’s garter, brides throwing a bouquet, etc.etc…You can still have traditional wedding reception just add a little something special to it. You can make your reception a celebration to remember by using unique, fun signs and banners!
Integrating offbeat touches in your traditional wedding ceremony is very easy. Just think outside of the box and be bold and creative.

Veil. Instead of wearing a traditional veil be more flirty and fun and wear a sexy fascinator instead.
Bouquet. Get a stunning paper flower bouquet that will last a lifetime! Aside from that it’s really unique and it’s very eco friendly too!
Accessories. Be more adventurous! Instead of wearing traditional pieces of jewelry try using unique and exciting accessories.
Shoes. You can never go wrong with white shoes for a wedding. However you can add more pizzazz to your outfit by wearing colourful, sexy shoes! Pair it up with a delicious matching purse!

Getting down with the groove!
So you are Mr and Mrs xxxxxx and it is time to celebrate.
Your reception is decorated and the food is served so what is left apart from the evening entertainment?
Now most venues will have a list of DJ that they recommend but if you are feeling a little bit more adventures then why consider the following.
Karaoke
Brought to us by the Japanese, this craze has sweeped the world for good and bad reasons. For all you good singers out there, there is nothing better then belting out your favourite song to all your friends to hear. Unfortunately you will get the occasional embarrassing moment but those are the moments you will remember.
So if you have brave friends and family who love to be centre stage then this is perfect. And rather then having a first dance how about a first duet?
Friend's Band
Everyone know (or heard) of a friend who is in a band so why not support them by inviting them to your wedding? This was an idea I got off a friend who got married over a year ago and got his own band to play at this reception.
Technology
We all have them and it is a notebook (or laptop for you oldies) with your entire music collection. This is a collection of music that you love so if the venue has the facilities why not just hook up your hardware to the system and put it on random play.
Of course if you are a fan of Apple products then an Ipod can be used in the same way.
Meet Kitty of KittyKanzashi
Tsumami Hana Kanzashi - Folded Fabric Flower Hair Ornaments
Aren't you always looking for something unique? The one little touch that expresses who you are while being beautiful and unexpected. Kanzashi ornaments are the perfect touch for anyone that has a love of Japanese culture and artwork. Kitty designs and creates some of the most spectacular pieces I have ever seen!!! Feel confident that if you love it even a little Kitty has put a tone of love into making the piece. I think this is a good luck charm.

From Kitty:
I'm a struggling trainee accountant who is making ends meet with her kanzashi.
My life (and my flat) is full of all things Japanese and as an avid collector and wearer of kimono one can not complete an outfit without a kanzashi. However I just couldn't find the kanzashi I wanted so I began to make them and soon they began to fill every space I had remaining.
After giving a few of my kanzashi away as gifts to my friends and being made redundant from my work, I decided that rather then waiting for the right job to turn up, I would turn my hobby into my work. Thus Kitty Kanzashi was born.
Apart from day dreaming about kanzashi and kimono, I enjoy cooking! Whether it is cakes or stews, there is nothing more relaxing then taking your frustrations out on some food especially if I am making bread which is my mini food project at the moment.
And for my geeky side, I play computer games on my PS3 and watch anime.
Well Kitty I personally love your work and look forward to what you have up your beautiful Kimono sleeve!

Give Your Champagne a Punch!
I love all fruity sweet drinks. The discerning palate passed me completely by. We joke that if it has a screw top or the word Mad in the name I will probably love it. Classy huh? Well if you are like me (feel free to admit it here) but might not want the entire wedding reception sporting Boons Farm, try giving Champagne or white wine a punch with frozen fruit cubes. Here are my favorites :)

Hollywood Style Accessories
Hollywood is the place of dreams and glitz. Accessories adorned with feathers seem to add that little something extra that Hollywood pulls of too well. Here is a little sampling of Hollywood styled accessories.

Meet Clay Bouquet Shop
Michelle Large Vintage Inspired Jeweled Ribbon Headband |
I asked Jennifer of ClayBouquetShop to tell me a little about herself. Here is her charming description:
I started crafting for my own wedding, as I didn't want to spend a trillion dollars (okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration), and I've always loved "creating." I was encouraged by family, friends, and wedding vendors to continue making bridal items, and here I am.
I'm a data analyst by day, working for a health insurance company. So I really enjoy coming home and creating beautiful things after running code and reports all day.
My husband and I live with our three cats, and hope to move to a sustainable home in the next year or so, with a solar/wind hybrid system, a fruit orchard and an organic garden in the plans. (If I can sneak a few alpacas, goats and chickens into the barn while my husband is sleeping, all will be right with the world. That's when I'll replace my VW, whichs run on either diesel or vegetable oil, with an EV (electric vehicle). Yep, I am pretty passionate about this.
You go girl!
